Can the print be personalised with the birthday person's name and age?+
Yes, always. We design a custom overlay with the birthday person's name, age milestone, and date, styled to match the party aesthetic. Every print feels like it was made for this night specifically. We send a proof for approval before the event.
How big does the party need to be?+
No minimum. We've operated at intimate dinner parties of 20 and full banquet hall celebrations of 200+. The robot scales naturally: at smaller parties it visits tables more frequently, at larger ones it maintains full coverage throughout the evening.
Does it work at a restaurant or hired venue?+
Yes. The robot is fully self-powered. No venue electricity or WiFi required. It works at private dining rooms, banquet halls, backyards, terraces, and event spaces. If your guests can be there, Akari can be there too.
Will it disrupt dinner or the speeches?+
No. We coordinate with you in advance on timing. The robot is paused during toasts, cake cutting, or any formal moment you want undisturbed. It works best during dinner service and the free-flow party sections, when guests are relaxed and the energy is already high.
Is there a limit on how many photos or prints?+
No limits. All Akari packages include unlimited prints for the full duration. Every guest can have as many photos as they want. There's no counter running in the background, no awkward conversation when supplies run short. We come stocked for the whole night.
How do guests receive their digital photos?+
Instantly. At the moment of capture, guests enter their phone number or email and the digital photo arrives within seconds, while the robot is still at their table. Most guests post it before it's even moved to the next seat. That's when the reach is biggest.
Is the roaming photo robot rental accessible for guests with mobility limitations?+
Yes. Because the robot comes to each guest at their seat, it is naturally inclusive for guests in wheelchairs, guests with limited mobility, and older guests who would never queue at a corner booth. The entire experience happens at table level — no standing, no walking, no queue. This is one of the most consistent pieces of feedback clients share after birthday events: the guests who responded most to Akari were often the ones who never would have approached a traditional photo booth.
How is guest contact information handled after the event?+
Phone numbers and email addresses collected at digital delivery are used solely to send the guest their photo. We do not store, sell, or market to guest contact information beyond that purpose. Contact data is removed from our systems after the post-event gallery delivery window closes. Our data practices comply with CASL and PIPEDA.
Can guests choose not to provide their contact details?+
Yes. Digital delivery is completely opt-in. Guests who prefer not to share their phone number or email simply take their instant print and move on — no data is collected from anyone who declines. The instant print is theirs regardless.
When is the post-event gallery delivered and how long is it available?+
Your private online gallery is delivered within 48 hours of your event. It contains every photo from the night in full resolution, organised chronologically. The gallery remains accessible for 30 days from delivery, with individual image and full archive download available throughout that window. Extended hosting is available on request.
What happens if there is a technical issue during the event?+
Our operator is on-site for the full duration and resolves any technical issue immediately. We carry backup consumables for all events. In the rare case of a hardware failure that cannot be resolved on-site, we provide a full or partial refund proportional to lost coverage time. We have never had to end an event early due to a technical fault.
